Duet Scene

  Costume Designs

1. Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part would be putting together our Ideas and plans for our dress because we each had our own unique style and we wouldn't want anyone to feel left out. For,example Jessica and Arnitria had a similar dress design and they were both beautiful in their own ways, Arnitria's design was more of a party type style and Jessica's was more Conservative style so it was very hard to choose.
2. After completing the designs I think the hard part was to choose who had the best design out of all the groups. Picking the perfect design was the hardest part because many of the costumes were different and they each had unique styles. For instants, many of the students had a hard time figuring out who's dress was the best out of Valeria's group dress and my group dress because they were both great but they were totally different in style.
3.The most important thing I learned after completing this assignment was team work. After all of our bickering while making this dress we finally pulled it off and came in 2nd place. I must admit I couldn't have do this without Arnitra, Jessica, Shilah, And Ravens help, we make the perfect team.
4 The most Interesting thing I learned from this activity was that I can use many other supplies other than clothing materials to make costumes. My group designed our dress by using garbage bag for the body of the dress, then we used hangers to hold up the dress to make a puff, we also used balloons and construction pare to make earrings.
5. The aspect of my work that I am most satisfied with is how great we made the dress look, because  at the beginning when we were assigned this activity I thought it would be impossible to pull of this activity of but when we were done I was proud and pleased.
 6. There is nothing that I am unsatisfied with on this activity because I strongly believe my Team and I did a phenomenal job and I wouldn't change nothing at all.

Reflection post: Garbage costume design

  1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be the costume it self, but I thought wrong. It was actually really easy but yet fun to accomplish.
  2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was the design on paper that we did in class. I couldn't even think what in the world to come up with to do but then I did something simple but yet not to simple.
  3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is to work with other people in my group and to do different activities. It was a really fun experience to do with others.
  4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that sometimes when you work together things come out looking better then working on your own. It would of taken me forever to do the costume on my own. I don't even think I would of finished it in thirty minutes by myself.
  5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that it was something chill and calm to work on. Also, the fact that we had to be creative with all of our work.
  6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is that I think we should of worked on it a little longer. Other than that I think it was just fine the way everything went.

April Reflection Post: Garbage Costume Assignment

April Reflection Post: Garbage Costume Assignment

1.) Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be to decide what design to choose. Since we did have a semi-large group, there could of been conflicting thoughts on which one too choose. People's ego's could of gotten in the way and made the task more difficult than it needed to be. But thankfully we put our thoughts together and selected a really good design! Good enough to come in first :D
2.) After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was to actually put the costume together and make it look decent. It was hard enough with the items that we were chosen to work with and actually make them look like the design we had chosen. Some of the items needed a lot of maneuvering in order to get the assignment down. We had to be really careful in order to not break or damage the costume or hurt the model.
3.) The most important thing I learned from this activity is not to just take any item for granted. Anything can be made to look beautiful. You can put your creative mind to work and create almost anything out of well..anything. It doesn't necessarily have to be the materials you're used to working with.
4.) The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that things normally considered "ugly" or "not normal" can be manipulated and in return be quite beautiful. It's amazing that we were able to create such a great costume out of things you normally wouldn't use for clothes. It just proves that everything shouldn't just be judged because of it's "normal" uses. Things can be reused and made into something creative and different.
5.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that I helped put in a lot of effort to make the costume match the original design. I also made sure we got the right amount of materials and made sure they were put to good use. We also won 1st place which was something rewarding. (:
6.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is the fact that I feel like I still could of put more of a creative aspect into the work. I didn't have to just sit back and let the design unfold as we put the materials on the model. But other than that I'm proud of what I did and I have no regrets.

Costume Design

Before attempting the costume design activity I thought the most difficult part would've been to get everyone to cooperate and contribute their ideas equally. another problem that I thought might occur would be the measurements of the costume for our model. However after completing the costume design my doubts about finding the accurate measurements for our model were correct. Every time we would find a new way to put the costume on her something fell off until we were finally able to get it right. The most important thing that I learned from this activity was team work. Sometimes working with friends isn't the best thing to do but if you know the person you're working with is self motivated then it's in your best interest to do so.
The most interesting thing that I learned from this activity would have to be that creativity stems from virtually anywhere. If you have any idea then you can create it out of anything like how we did with the garbage bags, toilet paper, balloons , construction paper and tape. The aspect of my work and I'm most satisfied with is that my team used my design for this project. I'm the first to admit that I'm artistically challenged so I was surprised but happy with their choice. In contrast,  the aspect of my work that I me satisfied with is that there wasn't enough pre planning. We could've done better but I'm content with how well we did and I'm proud of my group.

April Reflection Post

Costume Design Project

  1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be trying to work with the more fragile supplies that we had like the toilet paper. I thought maybe it'd be really hard to make it look like something or shape it in any way because toilet paper is so easily broken.
  2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was the hair piece. In my group the design we chose had a flower made of construction paper clipped to her hair and that was what I was in charge of doing it was so hard to make, I couldn't find a way to make it. I had to make something up which was really hard to do and it was very confusing.
  3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is to use your time wisely. We didn't have a ton of time to make the dress and during time we had it took me so long to get the flower clip done I barely got to do anything else. If I would've calculated my time more maybe I would've gotten more done.
  4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is how you can make clothes out of anything really. All the groups did great and everyone looked so good in their recyclable outfits it was so fun and it looked great.
  5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the hair flower because it was hard to do but I did it and even though it didn't look perfect I did it and it was hard work but I finished.
  6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is when I tried to do the jewelry. I tried to make a necklace out of wire hangers but I didn't finish, I gave up because I wasn't strong enough to bend the wires.

Earth Day Costume Assignment!

1.) Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be to actually construct the design we chose. We only had a few materials to work with so that was our first challenge. We had to find a way to make those materials look nice enough to be an actual costume, not just a bunch of scrap covering a body. Then, I thought it'd be hard to actually build the designed. We know what materials to use, but we had no idea how to use them and put them together. We had to pretty much use our brains and figure out on our own how to put a full costume together. I thought that was going to be very difficult.
2.) After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was to make the costume look nice. After getting the materials and planning out what to do, we had no problem putting all the pieces together, we just needed it to look nice. We realized that the costume doesn't just have to look complete, it has to look presentable. We started to put the actual dress together, but we needed a way to make it look "pretty". We started adding random decorations, but found it hard to stay within the guidelines of our original idea. It was very hard to do.
3.) The most important thing I learned from this activity is how to create a costume out of literally anything. I didn't think you could make a nice design out of garbage bags and toilet paper, but you can. People really do know how to use their creativity to make something ordinary into extraordinary. When everyone was done with their designs, the costumes I saw really surprised me. They looked very nice and I actually saw some things I wouldn't mind wearing. It just goes to show that imagination can take you a long way.
4.) The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that "ugly" things can turn into really beautiful things. We used basic household products, that are considered "dirty" or "ugly" and turned them into these beautiful creations. I thought that the costumes would come out very raggedy or tacky, but some actually looked cute. I figured using garbage bags, toilet paper, balloons and tape wouldn't create much, but it actually did. The team that won, their costume was adorable. I would definitely wear it one day. I was definitely surprised at the fact that we were able to change the perspectives on these not so nice products into something good.
5.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the fact that I helped decorate our costume to make it one of the top 3. My design wasn't chosen, but I definitely did help in the process of putting the piece together. I helped create the top of the dress and how it held up onto the body. I also helped create the skirt and how it wasn't just round and had ridges. I wanted to add a little bit of uniqueness to the costume, so I decided to bend the hanger on the bottom of the skirt to make the ridges. I like the fact that I added some of my own imagination to the costume and not just did whatever someone told me to do.
6.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is the fact that I could not get those hangers to bend my way. I tried to make the ridges at the bottom of the dress look uniform and nice, but the hangers kept sticking out and they weren't even at all. They looked decent, but I wanted them to be perfect. I also wasn't satisfied that I couldn't help with other aspects of the dress due to time. I wanted to help with the belt and balloon hat and stuff, but I couldn't, unfortunately.

Garbage bag Activity

Garbage Bag Activity
Briana
Period 7

1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be sketching out the design for the project.  Usually when you have a sketch out a concept it's easier to construct and keeps things organized.
2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was actually making the costume.  I realized my initial assumption was incorrect.  It was difficult to incorporate Garbage Bags, hangers, Construction paper, toilet paper  and balloons. It was difficult to make sure the balloons didn't pop which was a challenging task to accomplish.
3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is you can turn everyday items into couture dresses.  I have gained a huge amount of respect for costume designers.  They have at time have to cater to the director's bizarre requests such as a outfit using with balloons.
4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is Costume designing isn't a easy as it seems.  Costume designing not only requires money and time but also trial and error.  When working with my group we had to reconstruct things such as rewrapping the toilet tissue which was the ballerina shoes in order to get a near result.
5.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is how my perspective about Costume Designing has changed. I now have grown to understand a little more about the difficulties os being a costume designer.
6.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is the end result of the costume,  Had I been a little bit more aware about to to make the items required in my costume as a piece of work it would have came out better.  For Example, the hanger could have been used as a hanger.

Period 6

Duet Scene

Natalie & Kimberly (not us in the picture)
 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bExLEqhb8lg&feature=related

A duet scene is an act that involves two people. I'm not gonna lie when I started to work on this scene I was a bit scared. I've never worked with Kymberly before and I didn't know if she was a productive actress. But then, after about 10 minutes the first day, I started talking to her and I realized she was actually a good actress. I know before I thought working with Kymberly would be kind of hard because I didn't really know  how she acted.

Usually in class, when I had to perform I'd get real scared. Especially since there were a lot of good actors/actresses there. But then I was playing around with Kymberly with the scene and I started to do an accent. It turned out pretty funny so I decided to go with it. Then I was having a bit of  "a day" and when I finished the scene it came out bipolar. Kymberly laughed so I thought it'd be a great idea to put it  in. Now looking back on the project, I think the hardest thing was to be foolish in front of the crowd. But it turned out fun.

During the duet project scene I came across an astounding thing. Not really astounding I just didn't really know it, that's all. It's kind of hard to keep an accent while in your mind you're just cracking up. I am actually satisfied at how good a job Kymberly and I did. In especially the Ouija Board scene. I was actually kind of disappointed with how I couldn't say my lines.

But all in all, I am really happy that I had Kymberly as a partner.

costume design, Deziree

1.) Before attempting the costume design activity, i thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be making the costumes out of tissue paper, garbage bags, and construction paper. Also before starting i thought getting the correct measurements and not  having enough of the items would also be one of the hardest parts while doing this activity. 2.)After completing the costume designing activity, i now think the most difficult part to accomplish was getting the correct measurments and to keep all the items on the model and not have them fall off. When we went to work on another part of the model, the garbage bags were slipery and would fall off or become loose, during this projet we had to use lots of tape to keep everything form falling off. 3. )The most important thing i learned form this activity is to designate what parts everyone will work on. In the begining my team did not know where to begin, until someone had everyone work on different pieces on the model and in the end put them together. I also learned that team work will get you far, instead of fighting and trying to boss everyone around. 4.) The most interesting thing i learned form this activity, was that many things can be used for clothing. I also learned you can make outfits out of things lying around your house. 5.) The aspect of my work that i am most satisfied with is that my team used my design to put on the model. Another aspect of my work  i am most satisfied with is, that my team and i did our best and came out with a great turn out in the end. 6.) The aspect of my work that i am least satisfied with is that , most of the materials on the moel were falling off and my team did not win. Another aspect that i am unsatisfied with is that we could have done so much better with more time to work on the costume for the model.

Duet Scene

1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be memorizing the lines from two scenes and messing them up in front of the class. The lines may have been short, at least mine were, I tend to still forget them. I didn't want to forget my lines or mess up the scene. Which in the end I still forgot some of the words and ended up messing up.

2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was getting my partner to  do her part. We completed the first scene no problems. However when it came to the second scene we slipped up.Both would not show up on different days. In which we had to prolong the scene, and  neither of us really tried to remember the lines. I remembered most of mine while she knew none of hers.

3.The most important thing I learned from this activity is always be prepared. For me there were times when I didn't know the lines and almost had to be called up and perform. Even though my partner wasn't there. I thought I would get lucky and not have to perform. When actually her not being there was going to negatively affect my grade. Which would mean I would've had to perform with out her. The show really does go on.

4.The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is in doing a duet a scene it takes equal effort. Its not a solo in which you rely on yourself. In a duet you truly have to rely on partner to pull things off.

5.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is even though I didn't want to perform. I still got up and performed it and took a grade rather then no grade.

6.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is depending on my partner to know her lines. I didn't know all of mines either so it wasn't just her. However I knew some of them when she knew none.

Duet Scenes

1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be memorizing two scenes at the same time (even though they were quite short I still had my doubts). I guess I was mostly terrified of messing up my lines or not saying it right or doing it write, since there's always someone critiquing you. I thought that it was going to be fun. Which it turned out to be once I did my meditation and cleared my mind.

2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish is nailing it so that I could get a decent grade. Every time before I perform I get these "shudders" which makes me shake like I'm living in Antarctica. I could have performed the scene a million times and it will never go away, I guess that's my of getting the nervous out of not messing up and failing.

3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is to trust your partner. You could freeze and forget your lines, but your partner would find a way to catch you up and I'm sure you'd do the same for them. After all, you want a good grade don't you? But your partner is always there to help you memorize your lines. I also learned that nobody's perfect when it comes to doing a scene, sometimes even the greatest actors can have their moments.

4. The most surprising of interesting thing I learned from this activity is the creativity that exploded. There were a lot of accents and a lot of characters that happened that made the situation and real and no one got bored with any of the scenes.

5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I'm most satisfied with is that I learned of how to bring a new character out of me which could probably come in handy in future events.

6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I'm at least satisfied with is that I finally made my point that I'm best with comedy but would like to try drama and would LOVE to be those people running and screaming and tearing their hairs out in horror and thriller.

                                                                                                                           Jessica Sneed
                                                                                                                                 Period 6.

                                                             Costume Project

1.Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be trying to construct the dress with all the supplies that we had. It was very easy draw what we wanted to make on paper, but I thought constructing would just be very difficult because the dress that we picked had lots of different parts on it.
2.After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was still constructing it. Everybody in my group all had different opinions of different ways we could put the dress together and it would be able to stay in place. When we eventually got the dress together it still didn't come out like we wanted it because it was still very short and it was suppose to be kind of long.
3.The most important thing I learned from this activity is that in order to get the results that you want you have to work as a team. The last remaining minutes it seemed as though everything was coming together, everybody was working together to get our dress finished by using every supply that we had to in order for us not to get disqualified and if we were doing that from the beginning we would have probably won because the dress would have came out like we wanted it.
4.The most interesting thing I learned from this project is that you can use many different objects to create a costume. I would have never though that you can turn a trash bag into a dress, but you can. It made me think of many other objects that you can use to make a dress or costume you can basically use anything. This project can also help you express yourself in many different ways with any different and it comes very interesting to me.
5.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is my ability to work with a group of people and not trying to be the boss.I  like being the boss and being in charge but for this project I had to learn how to work with my group. I give myself props for listening and not trying to just do everything on my own.
6.The aspect of my work that I am least satisfied with is me not voicing my opinion enough and not saying what we should do on the dress. I just did what they told me even though I really didn't want to but I feel that I could have been more involved without me trying to become the boss.

Reflection Blog

Jarie Rawls P.6 costume design. 1)Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be actucally making the costume come to life. Seeing what we had to deal with like toliet papper, ballons, and etc seemed impossible for anything to happen. 2)After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was making the model feel comfortable. At times we would tape her so tight she could not even move. The hanger would be to tight on her arm or an object would be poking her, so I think that was differcult. 3)The most important thing I learned from this activity is it is possible bringing a costume to life, and team work. I was really freaking out thinking we could not pull it off but we did. Then teamwork becomes a big role so I really did learn how to listen to everyones input. 4) The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is many people in the class have different taste and designing methods. Some worked from top to bottom like us and some just put everything together at once. The designs were very different, some were wedding types others were funky and retro, none were the same. 5) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is my team finished, everything was on our model, and it looked very cute. I'm very satisfied with the arm brace I made for my model. I'm satisified with the leadership I took at some points but we all had a role in the custome design. 6)The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is honestly nothing. I enjoyed the whole activity, it was enojoyable, and I learned a lot.

April Reflection (Gabby Q)

Before attempting the duet scene, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be to stand in front of the entire class and not knowing what to do. After I was done with my scene i now think that the most difficult part of what i did was not knowing my lines, and not thinking about my partner . The most important thing that I learned in this scene was that I have to be more responsible and do what I'm supposed to do and even more when I'm working with a partner. The most surprising thing I learned from this was that it was an easy assignment and they were easy lines to memorize and I just didn't do it, I'm very disappointed about myself. I am satisfied that my partner could do it and presented what she knew and also that she had the chance to do it. What I am least satisfied with is that I didn't do my work and that i got a bad grade and also did my partner, and everything because I did not memorize 3 lines I recognize that what I did was wrong that is why from now on I am going to do everything.

April blog-Costume Design

  1. Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be the actual making of the dress. The drawing of the outfit made it look harder than it really was so I thought it would take us more than that one class period.
  2. After completing it I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was getting the group situated and figure out what everyones going to do. At first it was all chaos but once we settled down and gave everyone a job we got down to buisness.
  3. The most important thing I learned from this activity was how to work together to make a dress. I didnt really know where to start and neither did everybody else.
  4. The most surprising thing I learned from this experience is that I did alot of working doing the dress. Im not into fashion I love cars so its cool to learn that I wasnt bored doing that.
  5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the actually dress. I actually think it came out nice, except for a few things that we could of added or taken out would of made it better but I think it came put pretty good.
  6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is that we couldnt added more stuff and analyze the dress more. Because of the time constraint and starting off slow our group couldnt really couldnt make our dress better and look at it at a whole, instead we had to kind of rush at the end to finish.

April Reflection Blog

The thing I enjoyed most were the duet scenes that we had to do. Everyone was great and it was very entertaining to see people do crazy, dramatic and funny things. I think no one backed down to this assignment and we all came out of our comfort zones. I also liked seeing my friends get up and perform and myself too. We gave each other ideas which really helped us and it made everyone grow closer together than when it was like in the beginning of the school year.

April Reflection Post

Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be......  there really wasn't a difficult part to be honest. I've gotten rid of my fears over the the past couple of months. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was singing in front of the class room. The reason why it was difficult was because I wasn't confident in my voice, but now I am. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is how working together can be a beautiful thing. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that everybody in my group is dedicated on doing great things within the performance and getting an A. We both agreed on the two aspects we wouldn't lower our standards without meeting the goals we set. The aspect of my work on this activity I am least satisfied with was believing in myself to sing without having any flaws with how I sounded.

Improve

1. Before attempting this activity, i thought the most diffcult part to accomplish would be...
- Remembering the lines to me beacuse I know how hard it is to remembers lines form when I was doing the WIZ, studying day in and day out.

2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was...
-The line remembering that was hard and i still messed up my partner did good but i still messed up.

3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is...
- To come up with things on the spot and often using your imaganation, and to come up with things on the spot have to how really good Ideas also.

4. The most suprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is...
- I was suprise to see how some people step out of their box and out of their shell to give amazing performaces, trying their best to get the job done. they were really funny and intrusting to see and grow to love.

5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is..
- Im unique and very out their as mrs. gettings knows already about me as i am alway acting in her class!

6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is..
My LINES they just will not stay, they are not all that!, Its really BAD! But if i work at it, I know I'll will do better!

April Reflection Blog

Before attempting this activity, the duet scene, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be simply to stand in front of the class with all eyes on me. For me this was difficult, just based on the fact that in my mind I already pictured how they would react to my performance. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was keeping my heartbeat from racing to the point I wouldn't be able to put my all into the performance. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is to believe in myself even when no one else does. Also in a duet scene is to make sure your strengths can help your partners weaknesses and vise versa. The aspect of my work on this activity that i am most satisfied with is my composure through the whole scene, because all things could have went wrong. For instance me having a panic attack and not wanting to go through with it. The aspect of my work on this activity that am least satisfied with is I depended on my partner to learn the lines and it just so happened that it didn't go as expected. Yes, I knew my lines but we were a team and if one of looked bad then both of us look bad. It is what it is, but overall it was a good learning experience.

Duet Scenes.

Duet Scenes... Austin Katz Period 4

1. Before attempting this activity, i thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be.. remembering my lines first off and than to also act out what my part was suppose and was to be as a father. I could never be serious when a scene is funny and sometimes will stay out of charcter which wont get me the best grade of my ability.

2. After completing it, i think the most difficult part was... Remember my lines and acting out my part as i said in question 1. It is tough for me being very stage freight in the middle of the classroom, i get kind of shy. It was tough remembering my lines because when i know my grade is riding on an A i know i cant mess up and sometimes that gets in the way.

3. The most important thing i learned from this activity is... not to be shy and to project my voice in certain situations that i have to act out like i said before being a father who's mad at his own daughter and scenes like that.

4. The most surprising or interesting thing i learned from this activity is... that now i like to work by myself so i can not rely on others to remember their lines and act wrong and do the wrong movements at the wrong time to mess up my mind and make me say something before or even after it should have been said. not saying my partner was bad just telling how i felt about the situation.

5. The aspect of my work on this activity that i am most satisfied with is... i went out of my shyness zone to project my voice in acting class which does usually not happen with me. I learned that its not to bad to be in the front of a classroom, but a stage, that a little different depending on what is it im actually acting out on it.

6. The aspect of my work on the activity that i am least satisfied with is... forgetting some of my lines due to what i mentioned in question 3.  Also, sometimes i feel like a am being rushed although most times i am not i sort of rush to get off of the stage and back to watch someone else before time runs out. That is a bad quality for being in acting class and i hope to change that before the year is over.
DUET SCENE
Ari Daring

1.Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be...
--> would be me having to remember my lines. because its hard for me to remember things and having to have things down pact before a deadline is stressful. and also having your grade split with your partner because if they messed up, you messed up.

2.After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was...
--> would be to actually execute it and remembering your lines perfect with good acting. Also trying to stay in character and not change up the words while performing. and sticking to the play.

3.The most important thing I learned from this activity is...
--> learning way to remember lines. using different ways and schemes to remember them easier.

4.The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is...
--> is trying to stay in character. and to entertain people. you got to have be in character and really show expressions for a good show.

5.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is...
--> would be the way i played my character. because he was a commercial host and it was easy for me to use that character cause i have seen many commercials and advertising commercials.

6.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is...
--> would be remembering my lines and say them on point word for word. and also my outfit and having to come in all black.

Group Improv #1

1.Before attempting this activity. I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be staying in character. Not to sound cocky or anything, but whatever group I'm in, the class ends up laughing. When you have alot of people around you, it's not easy to stay in your role; especially if it's a funny one. In my past performances I've laughed a few times on "stage" so i was kinda expecting to do it again during this activity.
2.After completing it, I thinkl the most difficult part to accomplish was keeping the conversation on stage going. When Krystal tried to explain why the bus broke down on our way to this party, I didn't really know what to add in at the time. This was probably the quietest I have ever been in a performance for Acting.
3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is having an active imagination is the key to improvisation. If you have a dull way of thinking, then your perfomance will be boring and there might be alot of pausing because of the trying to think of things to say. Our group had no problem with though.
4. The most suprising or interesting thing I learned from this activty is how smart creative my group was. We came up with an idea for "Public Transportation" in like two seconds! I just wish we carried out our "plan" better on stage though.
5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that no one in my group was shy. This was good because, in the most part, we were able to do everything we pretty much planned on doing without anyone trying to getting out of doing their part in the performance. This will be very helpful in future performances too.
6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is how at the end of our skit when we had obviously given up on the storyline, the most RATCHET of our group started throwing paper moving all our our "bus." Her ghetto actions were embarrasing and scared the class a little bit.

Costume Design using recycled items - Reflection post

Everyday we throw something away that can be recycled to use again. Have you ever watched those shows where at recycling places they take soda cans, crush them, and make new ones? That's the beauty of recycling. In this group activity, we took garbage bags, wire hangers, toilet paper, tape, construction paper, and more items to make a costume. Before attempting this activity, I though the most difficult part to accomplish was trying to decide whose costume rendering we wanted to use and who to model it on. We had more boys than girls, so we decided to choose a boy to model this outfit. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was making the supplies look like a shirt, a pair of paints, etc. Honestly, it wasn't easy trying to make boxer briefs out of construction paper, and it surely wasn't easy to make socks out of toilet paper! The most important thing I learned from this activity is that you don't always need to use fancy materials to get creative for costume design. Forget sewing machines and silk, hands and recycled items can do just as good of a job if you put your mind to it! The most surprising and interesting thing I learned from this assignment is that the model that we chose (who didn't want to in the first place, but he got around ;) actually looked good with balloons on his head! I'm kidding, but really, the most surprising thing I learned is that I had a group with a lot of imagination and ideas which isn't easy to pull out of people all the time. I think we had a great costume, not as charming as others, but in my mind, we were champions! The aspect of my work that I'm most satisfied with is the fact we pulled off most of what was on the rendering onto the model itself. Everything wasn't exact, but we did manage to make it work. The aspect of my work that I'm least satisfied with is the lack of supplies we didn't use. I wish we used more and were more precise, but practice makes perfect! I had so much fun doing this activity, and seeing pictures of what people do with the same recycled items is incredible and it kind of inspires me that creativity goes a long way!

Costume design assignment

1) Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be finding a way to put all the items together in a way that they wouldn't look so "bad". I mean when you look at it it's not every day you have to use black/white garbage bags, balloons, hangers, construction paper, and toilet paper to make a creative outfit to the best of your ability. Running through my mind when I first heard of this assignment was "this is impossible; I just don't see how we're going to possibly get this task done at hand".

2) After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was definitely the time management. Even though I was the model, and had to kind of stand there. I looked around the classroom and saw every group kind of hurrying to put everything together, including mine. Another aspect I thought was difficult was just the making sure that everything looked right and matched the initial design on the paper.

 3) The most important thing I learned from this activity is that creativity is truly the key. I mean we all had to really put our heads in it to make the costume really “come to life”. We all had to dig down deep into our creative sides, even though some might consider themselves more creative than others. Working together is also important we couldn’t just have one person doing all the work. As a team we all had our own responsibilities to attend to. Without one or the other, the job would not get done.

4) The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is the way the final product looked. Like I said at first that was my main concern, how this costume is going to turn out. That was the most surprising thing to me; it actually looked good in my opinion. When we first started I expected to look like a complete utter mess. Boy was I surprised by our outcome and all the other groups’ outcomes too.

 5) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is being able to present the costume well. I was the model in this project and from my aspect I did a good job of presenting our “look”. Think about it’s not easy to model an outfit made out of garbage bags, balloons and etc. You have to be confident in what you are wearing, show that you believe you look good in your circumstance. That is why wearing the outfit was my work I was the most satisfied with,

6) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is nothing that I can really think of. In my opinion I believe we did very well, and should have won actually. I really felt as if we dedicated a lot of effort and creativity into the costume. Considering the amount of time we had to create this look. So I am least satisfied with nothing, I feel we did our best.
             Duet Scene: Reflection Post

By Imani Myers

1. Before attempting this activity, I really thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be remembering all my lines, especially since I don't have the best memory in the world. I felt some amount of pressure because I had someone else relying on me to remember my lines, just as much as I was relying on them to remember their part.
2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was trying to stay in character.Considering that both my scenes were considered comedies, it was difficult to stay in character when you have a crowd of people laughing at you, ( and me trying not to laugh), because of the funny accent I decided to use, or what funny costume I decided to wear.
3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is that, you need to pick your partners wisely. Before, I would just ask anyone that was sitting next to me. I have learned the hard way, that this sometimes does not end well because that person or persons would forget to learn their lines, or forget their costume etc. However, for this assignment I think I picked a good partner. I trusted that we would not let each other down, and that is what is needed in a good partnership; someone you can trust.
4. The most surprising and interesting thing I learned from this activity is, if you are not entertaining, people will not pay any attention to you. Most people like to laugh and be entertained, and if you are on stage and you forget your lines, people will be confused, get bored or frustrated or just blatantly leave.
5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the fact that I was able to remember all my lines so quickly and easily. Usually it is harder for me to remember some of my lines, and this quarter I found a way to relate to my scene and really tried hard to remember, and guess what...., It really paid off!
6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is me forgetting my costumes.Unfortunately, the days that my partner an I had to performed were days I had to wear my NJROTC uniform, so, (even though this should not be an excuse), I forgot to bring clothes to act in. When I forgot my clothes I had to act in what I had on.

Duet Scene Activity: Arnitria McFadden p.6

Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be performing with crazy ole Jason. In every other scene he does he tends to mess his partner up with his awesome personality but I managed to work with it. After completing our duet scene, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was remembering my lines for my second duet scene. Only because our class took so long to finally perform the last one but my first scene was the boom. The most important thing I learned from this activity is Having a comedy act is terrific but In order to complete the act successfully you have to let the audience laugh before you laugh an always stay on character. The most interesting thing I learned from this activity is that working with my partner Jason is a challenge just to keep from laughing during rehearsals and during performance. I say it's a challenge because he's so hilarious and the act we Choosed matched our styles and personalities perfectly. The aspect of my work on this activity that I most satisfied with is performing well in my first act with out messing up or even skipping a line. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is in my second act I really did horrible, I knew my lines but I had soapy destructions to the point I wasn't able to think straight but even through the mess ups and mistakes my partner and I had a great time and thats all that matters because at the end we learned from our mistakes.

Gabrielle P.7 Reflection Post-Costume Design Contest

Before I attempted this activity, I thought the most difficult part would be designing the costume. I wanted to have a costume that was creative and unusual. I didn't want to design the run of the mill dress or pant suit, I wanted something that turned heads and make people go wow, I've never seen anything like that before. So it was something that I had to sit and think long and hard about. Also, I thought the most difficult part would be constructing the outfit because we had very out of the ordinary materials to use and very little time. After completing it, I still think that constructing the costume was the most difficult part. There would be times when the tissue paper would fall off or one of us would accidently step on it and it would rip off. Sometimes the balloons would pop while they were being blown up or the construction paper would peel off, after we would put on like layers of tape to make it stick. The most important thing I learned from this activity was to always stay patient. Even though things may not go the way I planned or expected, I should always remain calm and patient and work hard towards a better result. During this project, we wanted really bad to have our final outcome look just like the design we had, but mishaps occured and things didn't work out as planned but we just had to take our time and work with what we had and be patient throughout the process with our teammates and our assignment. I am proud to say that throughout most of our project, all of our teammates were able to do that. The most surprising thing I learned during this project was how to incorporate balloons into our costume. Before this project, I thought about how balloons would work on a dress, but I learned that by taking tiny balloons, we could make a shoulder strap or a belt or a bracelet. There are more to balloons than party ornaments!!!! The aspect of my work that I am satisfied with is of course our wedding dress we made. I thought it was very stylish and beautiful and we all worked so hard to make it. Even though we came in 4th place, I thought our dress was the best. The aspect that I was least satisfied with was the our headband we made. The hanger would not cooperate with us while we were making it and I kept falling off. If it weren't important to our costume, I would've just left it alone, but we needed it.

Improvisation Scene 1, Period 6

  1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be creating a beginning, middle, and end without much time to prepare. The scene had to be at a construction site, and we had to create the conflict along with a solution. With the time we were given, I thought we were going to have to make it up as we went but with my group we discussed it as quickly as we could. Jarie, Kaitlyn, Taylor and I contributed to ideas and came up with a conflict easily and the scene ran smoothly.
  2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was to try and stay in character! Jarie, Kaitlyn and I had to play guys, who were pervs on top of that, so it kind of felt uncomfortable which resulted in laughing. Also, since our scene wasn't scripted, everything that my group said was unexpected and finding a way to contribute to what was just said was difficult without breaking character to think of what to say.
  3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is that you don't need a lot of time to perform a great scene. Without preparation, it allows the characters to develop new ideas and use their creativity to evolve during a scene. It helped my group and I work together to work out the scene while performing it and made the acting feel more real rather than copied from a script.
  4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is how much an audience can react to a simple but funny line. During the scene, I said: "Its okay, I like them feisty!" because the "girl" in the scene (Taylor) pushed me to the floor for being too close. I got a big reaction from saying 6 words which made me happy and surprised at the same time.
  5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is how well my group and I worked together. We developed the scene with our ideas before and during the performance. During the scene we played off of what someone said and kept the conversation going. Even if someone made a mistake, the other people in the group covered it up and laughed it off after the performance.
  6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is that no one recorded it! I wish I could have seen my group and I and how we looked while performing so we could fix the little problems and laugh about what we did. It would have helped with future scenes on how to improve our performance.

Reflection Blog: Mariana- Duet Scenes

1.) Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be actually making the piece funny. Stephanie has a lot of talent and I knew from the beginning that she would be a fantastic partner, but getting the audience to buy our act was a different ordeal. Furthermore, we both knew that we had to make the piece original because there would be others playing the same scenes. 2.) After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was managing to choreograph the responses and conversation to seem like we were truly talking with one another. Stephanie and I created characters that were. It only interacting but that were also caught up in themselves -as any person does tend to be when they are socializing.  3.) The most important thing that I learned from this activity is that when you work with someone else in order to entertain others you are not just thinking about what you think will be funny and what the other person thinks is funny. You are thinking of what others will be funny, even if it isn't funny to you. And sometimes that requires doing things that I would personally find embarrassing. 4.) The most surprising thing I learned thing that I learned from this activity is that when I'm performing, I'm not me. I am not Mariana. I am the character I am performing. I don't feel shame or embarrassment because there's no need for that. I allow myself to believe the situation in my head and I play out like I'm supposed to. And I love it when people are amused by what I managed to create. I was absolutely pleased when the class began to try to do my "geek" voice from my first scene with Stephanie.  5.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the unique story centered I managed to create alongside Stephanie around a script that was vague and had nothing to go on. I feel like what I managed to create really made an interesting story, especially with the plot twist that required NO WORDS.  6.) The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is my inability to memorize the lines of my second piece. I had forgotten to rehearse, and that week had been particularly strenuous on me and so I had absolutely forgotten to practice. I really failed on the second act and I could have done better, but I tried and carried on the scene.

Marlynn doriah

Marlynn Doriah Pd. 6 Costume design project 1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be drawing an outfit on paper that I know was going to be made of garbage bags and toilet paper then bringing it to “life” on a person. Also for people who are artistically challenged like me I had no idea where to start or what to draw. 2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was to make a costume on a real person and getting the measurements right. Like that took a lot of effort and my group had to start over because we cut a whole too big which couldn’t fit our model. 3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is to be a lot more open minded and creative after seeing other people’s designs I reevaluated my own and thought that if I had looked at it from a creative point I would have drawn something better. 4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is how hard it is to actually come up with a right costume under easy guidelines and it was still hard. And getting a model to fit the costume you envisioned in your head. 5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that even though the costume wasn’t good it wasn’t as bad as I though it was going to be and was very funny looking at the outcome. 6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is nothing because before hand I knew all my group members couldn’t draw and neither could I so we all tried are best to make it work and we did.

Garbage Bag Project

This activity was a very entertainig for me.  I really enjoyed it.  Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be making the dress look similar to the design in the picture.  We picked my design for it was far less complicated to create.  We used Samari as our model.  After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was trying to stick to the design and still making the dress look decent.  Some parts of the dress looked exactly like the picture, however, some parts looked nothing like it.  The most important thing I learned from this activity is that anything is possible as long as one puts his/her mmind to it.  I didn't think that we could actually create a costume using garbage bags, ballons, tape, contruction paper, toilet paper, and a wire hanger.  It actually easier than i had imagined.  The most surprising thing I learned from this activity is that creativity is the key to success.  I was so worried on the difficulty of the taskm while Noel and Sameika's group created a fabulous dress that won first place.  The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is th fact that I can create a dress so lvely using what seems like useless house objects.  We were blessed with creativity on this activity.  The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is that we did not win.  I felt like we could have done better.

Costume Success Sabrina Fenelon p7

1.Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be...the actual constructing of the costume. Even with the tape we were given , I expected it would difficult to put everything on the costume. When the base of the costume was constructed I was very satisfied. I felt a smile on my face because we were in the lead and, we were making great progress.
2.After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was...the bending of the hanger. It took forever to bend and, break the hanger. In order to form a strap on the costume. When we finally got it to stay on the costume, I was very relieved. It ended up being very cute on the costume too. It added a gold touch to the black garbage bag. Which was adorable.
3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is...not to judge activities before you do them. At first I thought it would be impossible to create a costume out of the materials we were given. But, as we were constructing it, I saw the costume on paper come to life. Also, my team and I really bonded and, got along well together. My team was so fun and amazing. I was very surprised by how well we worked together. Everyone agreed on the direction of how we constructed our costume.
4.The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is.. that you can make something out of nothing. We were given household items that we created a beautiful costume out of. That in itself was a surprise. I thought that out of the materials we were given our costume was a success.
5.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is... my sketch of the costume. I was lucky enough to get my sketch chosen. I was very excited to see it come alive. When I designed it I was very particular. Also, I thought my modeling of our costume was great. I always model in front of my friends as a joke. But for the fact I had to do it in front of the class, for a grade made me model with a lot of motivation.
6.The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is... that I could not actually build the costume because I was the model. I wish I could have been apart of putting the items on the costume. But this time I just had to trust my team mates in doing a great job;which they all did.

Trash Bag Trend

Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be actually making the costume on the model. It was pretty difficult at first but then when my ground got the hang of it , it turned out pretty well.
After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was competing with the other groups. Some of the other groups looked really good! I was pretty jealous of some of the outfits. I wish i had thought out my groups better.
The most important thing I learned from this activity is working together and knowing to communicate. My group was communicating in the beginning but toward the end we were losing cooperation. I think it worked out pretty decent.
The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is the style that my group had. We went with a modern look. I was fascinated with the creativity my group had.
The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the design. My fellow member that designed it was going with a look that most girls wear out to parties.
The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is with the lack of color. We should have gone with different colors and the way we out it together. Taping was pretty difficult too!

Garbage bag costume By:Nicole Minsal period 7

1. Before attempting this this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be creating the costume in such a short period of time. Mrs.Gittings gave us about 30-45 minutes to create the costume itself, clean up, and put back all of our supplies. But with the help of my great group, we accomplished our goal to create a great costume.
2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was creating the top part of the costume. My group decided to create Mariana's design, which was very complex and challenging, but I like a challenge. In Mariana's design it contained very pointed shoulders that seemed very difficult to make. To create this we would use hangers and bend the to the shape on the design. At first it was very difficult because the hangers were very stiff, but Stephanie managed to get it in place. It looked fabulous at the end.
3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is good teamwork. Without my group this whole design would not be made possible. For example, if Shantel and Rebekah didn't blow the balloons then we wouldn't have the bottom half of the dress we created. Also if Mariana wasn't there to guide everyone to create the costume right, then the outfit wouldnt look right. And Stephanie was like the group leader directing everyone in the group throughout the entire process.
4. The most suprising thing I learned from this activity is that you can make something so great just out of garbage bags, toilet paper, balloons, tape, and contruction paper. As soon as we got the assignment I went home and researched some dresses that were made out of those things. The pictures I found were amazing and beautiful. I remember seeing a wedding dress entierly made out of toilet paper. It was so creative. At the end the costume we made only using those things turned out wonderful from the balloon skirt, and contruction  paper braclets, it looked awesome.
5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is my modeling. In my group I played the role of being the model. When I was younger I was a model, and modeled many different types of clothes, but never a garbage bag! So a first I felt a little ridiculous wearing a garbage bag, but after a while I got used to it. But as soon as I started to strut my stuff in class, I felt right at home. It felt so natural to just walk, I felt like my inner model came out.
6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is my work effort. Since I was the model, I really could not doo much to participate. The most I could really do was hold or tape something together. But overall we made a great costume, and won third place. And I am very pround of my group.

april 30th acting review (bria)

Before attempting the duet scene,I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be the lines. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was the character. The most important thing I learned in this activity was to have fun and relax. I learned how to come out of my shell and just enjoy myself. The MOST SURPRISING thing I learned from this activity is that Im actually goood at improvisation. The aspect of my work on this activity I am most satisfied with is that like me my partner did well with improvisation too so the audience never knew if we messed up a line and that we made it as star students of the week which reminds me I have yet to see it posted hint hint. FINALLY the aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is the fact that we had to choose the two scenes off the paper because I saw so pretty funny ones I really wanted to do but the scene it was next to wasn't as funny. All in all it was a great experience and I really enjoyed myself.

Costume Design

Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be actually turning the drawing into a constume.
After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was getting the costume on the model in just thirty minutes.
The most important thing I learned from this activity is that time is important and to use it wisely.
The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that with just simple supplies like garbage bags and balloons, you can make a really cool looking costume.
The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is the actual outcome of the costume and the fun I got to have.
The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is the lack of creativity.

Garbage Bag Design Project

1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be to come up with the concept of how our dress was going to look like. I try to be creative but I'm just not one of those people that has a creative mind, I don't really know how to draw either, so I didn't know if my design would be the perfect fit.
2.After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was making sure that the items on the outfit didn't fall off. The tape that we used was pretty strong so it basically kept everything in place. However there was certain times where I thought that something would fall off such as the hanger. We put two hangers up on our model shoulders, and I thought that it would bend a little, but for the most part it stayed in place.
3.The most important thing that I learned from this activity is that no matter what type of material you have, you can make it out if something. When my teacher first told me about making a costume design out of garbage bags, the first thing I thought was "How the heck". But once she showed us pictures of them, it didn't seem hard after that. It actually gave me ideas and made the assignment easier.
4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that when you work together as a team, you can definately put things together at a faster pace then working by yourself. Each one of my team members and I each had certain things that we dealt with. For example, one of my team members was in charge of taping everything together, another was in charge of holding the outfit together, others has to create a purse, etc.
5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is that my team won. There was one person in my group who knew exactly how the dress was going to look, and where the items were going to be put at. At times I wasn't really sure where we could put things at such as the balloons, hangers, and construction paper. But that person knew, and since he knew it made everything flow together and made the dress look successful. Winnig the competition was a very good feeling. If I could do it again, definately would.
6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is nothing. I can honestly say that everything went well. The concept, the way the dress was designed, who our model was, and where the ballons and other items went. My team did a phenomenal job and I couldn"t help but thank every last one of them for making this group assignment one of the best things we did during this school year!!!!

Duet Scene

Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be deciding how to portray the character would act because the script doesn't really identify their state of mind. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish this was to remember my lines because at least one time during my performance, I struggled on my lines. The most important thing I learned from this activity was how to use the props to signify who my character was. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is it went good overall.  But the aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is that I think I could have done way better.

Garbage Bag Costume

Before attempting this activity I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be putting the whole costume together exactly like the drawing. I thought that with the materials that were given that it would be almost impossible to put the design together. I thought this because the balloons could pop, the hangers wouldnt be able to go how we wanted them to, and the hangers could have ripped the trash bags. After compleating it, I know think the most difficult part to accomplish was to complete the design in the amount of time that was given. My groups design was a great design and nothing went wrong when trying to put it together, but when the time was about to finish the design we were making was not finished. We had the basic design done but the back was blank. The most important thing i learned from this activity is teamwork. While doing this activity I saw that every person was doing something to complete the design and when every persons part was completed and put together it came out great. The most surprising thing I learned form this activity is how much team work it takes to put one small thing together, and how much fun you could have while doing it. I always thought trying to make something come out like something on a paper would be stressfull and not many people would be needed to work on it. But after I finished this activity I relized it wasnt stressful but a lot of fun. Also that it takes teamwork to accomplish that. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is how fast and well that I could tie the balloons after blowing them up. I have never tied a balloon before have only watched my parents do it so i decided i would try tieing the balloons myself for this activity and when i tried i relized i could tie them fast and easily. When one of my parterns tried tieing them they couldnt, so I just ended up tieing all of the balloons and I am very pleased on how they came out. The aspect of my work that I am least satisifed with is how the back of the design came out. I was expecting the back to have as much design as the front and when i saw the finished product i was very disappointed in the back. I would of liked to see more done with that and then we might of have gotten a higher placing then we did , which was 3rd place, I am not saying I am upset with that, I am saying that we could of have done better then that if we only had enough time to complete the back.

"Garbage bag designs" by:Ryan Walker pd 6th

Before attempting this activity i thought it was going to be difficult constructing it and coming up with some interesting ideas in making the garbage bag costumes and having accessories for them. It was also difficult to cut the garbage bags evenly and making sure everything is tack because we wanted it to look presentable. After completing this amazing activity i now know the most difficult part that was hard to accomplish was taping the garbage bag together with the other half. Because it would get stuck to the garbage bag and as you try to take it off it would sometimes tear the bag. The most important thing i have learned from this activity was team work to get the job done. Because all of us in the group were a team and we had to get along with each other and agree so that we would get a good grade. I also learned that it would be easier to pick a easy design that does not consist of to much material so that it would over rule the costume. The most surprising or the most interesting thing i have learned from this activity was that you should plan out what costume you want to make and that it is very easy to make the costume as you continue to work hard. The aspect i am most satisfied with of my work. Was how it came out looking and how i did an amazing job constructing it. I felt good afterwards but i was sad to see that i was not in the top three best costumes. The thing i was least satisfied with from this activity. Was how we did not tape the head band correctly on our host so now our costume was not complete. This was a fun activity to do. It brings character, team work, fun, humor and friendship. I would not mind doing another activity similar to this one. In our group everybody got along with each other and we were capable of getting t good grade on this activity. The other groups also did an amazing job on there costumes that drew my attention. I just wish we would have had more time in that case my group would have gotten first place instead of 4 :(. Other then that it was a fun and relax day to see the diffrent variety of costumes. http://sofashon.com/2007/10/little-black-shiny-dress/

Partner Scenes

So far this quarter, my favorite in-class performance was the partner scenes. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be memorizing my lines. I never seem to be good with memorization and will remember something perfectly one minute and then five minutes later it's almost gone. However, I surprisingly pulled it together quite well and remembered my lines for the most part. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was to perform it exactly the way we practiced it. When my partner and I practiced our scenes, we put energy into it and knew exactly what we were doing. When we went to perform the scenes, we ended up being really nervous about forgetting our lines and didn't give it our all. The most important thing I learned from this lesson is that you have to interact with your partner. When your are performing partner scenes, you and your partner both depend on each other. Performing with someone else requires teamwork and the sharing of ideas between the two people. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is that it is much easier to work with a partner than a group. When working with a group, you have to be able to depend on a bunch of other people and it takes longer to accomplish things. On the other hand, things get done much faster and easier when you only have to communicate with one other person. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is my ability to memorize my lines. Normally, it takes me longer than most people to memorize my lines. However, this time it was different and I had all of my lines memorized within a short time. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with was my overall performance. When I went to perform, I was so nervous that I was unable to perform to my fullest. I don't understand why I get so nervous when acting in front of the class since I am a competitive cheerleader and am used to performing in front of hundreds of people. Overall, I found this activity very fun and I loved working with my partner Natalie! (:

Garbage Bag Costume Design

  1. Before attempting this activity, I thought the most difficult part to accomplish would be...actually making a costume out of trash bags and toilet tissue. At first I thought we would just design a costume and that's it. With the materials we had , we really had to be creative and think outside of the box to create a costume.
  2. After completing it, I now think the most difficult part to accomplish was...getting what we had on a paper physically on somebody. We wanted our costume to be fitted and to have colors and not be bland. We did our best and , in my opinion , it came out pretty descent.
  3. The most important thing I learned from this activity is...always look at things from a different perspective. Stretch your mind to think in other ways. Be creative , and everything you put together is a masterpiece .
  4. The most surprising or interesting thing I learned from this activity is...how many good looking costumes you can make with balloons , trash bags , tape , and hangers. Mrs.Gittings showed us a couple of desings online. They were very unique and different. I never would've even thought about making a dress out of balloons. I found that really interesting.
  5. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am most satisfied with is...working together. Working together with friends and putting our minds together to create this design. We put all our differences aside and worked as a team and we had fun while woring together .
  6. The aspect of my work on this activity that I am least satisfied with is...not winning :/ . But that doesn't matter . My group won in my mind and that counts for something.
