Titanic 3-D? Will It Sink or Swim?

In our day and age there is barely anyone who has not seen or at least heard of the meritorious blockbuster movie Titanic, direction by James Cameron. This movie was released on December 19th, 1997 and has generated a worldwide total of $1,843,201,268. It was the highest-grossing film in history until the release of Avatar, also written by James Cameron. For those of you who have not seen the movie, the story begins in 1996 when treasure hunter Brock Lovett and his team explore the wreck of RMS Titanic searching for a necklace called the Heart of the Ocean. The team acquires a safe box that belonged to Caledon "Cal" Hockley, the original owner of the necklace, hoping that the box contains the necklace. However, the contents contain a letter and a sketch of a naked woman wearing the coveted necklace; the drawing is dated April 14th, 1912, the night that he ship struck tragedy. The woman turns out to be Rose Dawson Calvert. Rose, now a 101 year old elderly woman, hears about the drawing and along with her granddaughter goes to visit Lovett and his team on the ship. She then recalls the story of her stay on the RMS Titanic. Rose reveals that she is actually Rose DeWitt Bukater, a passenger that was thought to have died. She was 17 years old when she boarded the RMS Titanic along with her fiancé, Cal, and her mother. Distraught by the engagement Rose considers suicide and as she is about to jump into the cold Atlantic waters a third-class passenger stops her and saves her, his name is Jack Dawson. Together the two venture into a forbidden romance. Seeing as Rose was a first-class passenger and Jack is a third-class passenger their relationship is kept a secret during the duration of the Titanic's venture. Rose reminisces the last days of the Titanic and her experiences with Jack and also recalls the whereabouts of the Heart of the Ocean. I won't give specific details or give away the ending of the story so that I don't spoil it for those who haven't seen . This movie has won innumerable amounts of awards and has been a success world wide ever since its release. It had fourteen Academy Award nominations and won eleven. Yet, ever since the inception of the movie Titanic it has been decided that the movie would be a stand alone film, meaning it would have no sequel or prequel. However, this April 6th, 2012 to commemorate the centenary of the RMS Titanic setting sail, the movie Titanic will be re-released in theaters in 3-D. But will the re-release of this timeless epic romance movie turn out to be as successful as the original release? Will it be an even bigger success? Or will it turn out to be a failure? Based on the positive outcome of the original release, it seems that the movie will indeed turn out to be just as successful, if not even more so, than the original release. This movie is truly a wonderful and fantastic movie to watch, and even the guys that claim that it's a "chicks" movie shouldn't knock it before they try it. It really is spectacular to watch. http://www.titanicmovie.com/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120338/
