Black History Month period 7

I always enjoyed Black History Month. From the fun activities in elementary school to the class presentations in middle school and now the school plays in high school. The show presented last month to me was very entertaining. From the humorous moments to the educational ones. I admired the fact that in the play the past and present was acknowledged. The various people that had tributes was nice as well. The tour in a museum was a nice touch. For me it was a productive way to go through the different African Americans that were recognized. The dances, speeches, poems, and songs were well done. The play altogether was phenomenal. I don't know about you guys but Jalisa's singing was what did it for me. We recently lost a big part of our music generation, Whitney Houston. She was an amazing artist and actress. Regardless of the obstacles and bad choices she may have made she will always be a legacy. The magic she created with her music and her angelic voice will never be forgotten. My favorite movie with her in it is Waiting To Exhale. Thats the Whitney everyone knew and fell in love with. And thats the Whitney we have to remember and keep alive in our hearts. I loved it when the crowd chimed in when Jalisa was singing Whitney Houston's songs. It in a sense gave me hope that our generation didn't lose sight of what real music is. What was you guys favorite part of the Black History Show?

Know that our history is to never be forgotten, it brought us to where we are today. And it's our job as individuals to work as one and lead the way for our upcoming generation so they can be proud of the history we've left for them.
