Taking The Stage!

"Taking the Stage" needs to come back!

If any of you remember, "Taking the Stage" was a reality show on MTV about specific students that went to a performing arts school in Cincinnati. The teens chosen to be on the show were talented in either dance, singing or had other musical talents like producing. I personally loved this show. In the show it showcased how talented and hardworking these kids really are. They went to school full-time and practiced full-time in one facility. The show had all of the normal teenage drama, but it didn't take over the show and what it was about. That's why I liked it. The show wasn't centered around the "drama" and more on the talent. For example, in the show a kid named Tyler had a lot of "woman" problems. A lot of people may remember the drama he went through with more than one girl, but they may also remember how well he danced. Tyler was always dancing in the show, and the producers made sure they showed the world his talents. The producers always aired the competitions they were in or performances for school. Another talented young lady was Mia. She was one of the girls that had drama with Tyler, but she was never always shown in the silly drama. Mia has an amazing voice and I loved how the show helped portray this to everyone else. Her and Tyler worked hard to get into that school and kept working hard to stay in and make their dreams come true. I think it's a shame that the most popular shows on MTV now are reality shows about teen pregnancy and getting drunk on the Jersey Shore. These shows aren't very positive, specially for young viewers. I loved "Taking the Stage", because it had a very positive message for young people. It showed them that working hard and believing in yourself can definitely get you places. The show honestly made me want to further my love for dance as well. It just has such a positive impact on people that I think MTV needs. I'm disappointed that it got cancelled, because it made room for the more negative shows to be aired. This show should definitely come back, or a show similar to it.
