This single photo alone pretty much sums up the much anticipated movie Project X in its entirety, which made its debut in theatres March 2nd, 2012. The film was created by the same director of the legendary former blockbuster sensation, The Hangover, and Project X was expected to be nothing less than "the greatest party movie yet". The storyline of the film is based upon 3 high school seniors who are seeking to make a name for themselves in their school before graduating, and they decide to throw a party to accomplish this. However, word of their party is rapidly spread through social media and other technology and before the kids knew it, 1,000 people were at their house and everything went completely out of control. All morals were forgotten about altogether as things were set on fire, kids were passing out right and left from drinking too much, and a car was even driven into the pool. The idea of the movie was actually derived from a party thrown by the Austrailian teen Corey Delaney who threw a party in 2008 that hosted over 500 people while his parents were out of town. The teenager now is recognized nationally as a "party legend" and now he hosts and djs parties all around Austrailia for a living. In my opinion, Project X definitely lives up to the expectations as the greatest party movie yet, and it also goes down as my favorite of this genre. Not only is Project X renowned as a great movie, it also features an unparalled soundtrack which features a mix of hip-hop, and house music that is causing a buzz among all who have seen it. Here is a link that has samples of the movies entire soundtrack and the actual soundtrack can be purchased on itunes

The upside of this movie is obvious it being a must see film that comes along with an amazing soundtrack, but Project X unfortunately has a significant unexpected downside that came along with it. Shortly after the movie was released, there were many reports of people attempting to throw their own "Project X parties" and as a result thousands of dollars in damage have been reported, along with many injuries and in Houston one teen was killed at one of these "copy cat parties". There have even been a few of these parties thrown in south Florida, more specifically Miramar where there were $20,000 worth of damage done to a foreclosed home. I'm sure the intentions of the movie weren't for it to be replicated in real life and this should not stop you from seeing one of the best films of the year and what could possibly be the greatest party movie ever!
